AI & Translation Policy

6chatting exists to help people communicate across languages—through chat translation and, where available, voice/calling translation. This policy explains how translation works, what it can and cannot guarantee, how we reduce harm, and what we expect from users worldwide.

Last updated: 2026-05-26Nuance & safetyGlobal usersResponsible use
Core idea
Translation is not only words. It carries tone, context, culture, and intent. 6chatting aims to reduce barriers, but users must verify critical meaning before acting.

Safety rules apply to translated content as well. See Safety Policy and Acceptable Use.

Overview

Deep clarity

Translation is powerful because it can connect people who otherwise could not communicate. But it also carries risk: mistranslation, missing context, and cultural misunderstanding. This policy sets expectations, protects users, and helps keep translation safe and reliable.

What we provide

Service
Tools to translate messages and (where available) voice/calls into a chosen language, helping you understand and respond in real time.

What we do not promise

Limits
Perfect accuracy, legal/medical correctness, or the capture of full cultural nuance in every situation.

How translation works

Conceptual

6chatting may use machine learning, AI models, and language processing techniques to translate content between languages. Translation may involve:

  • Detection: identifying the source language and target language.
  • Conversion: mapping meaning between languages using learned patterns.
  • Post-processing: formatting, punctuation, and readability improvements.
  • Context hints: prior messages or conversation structure (where available) to reduce ambiguity.
Human languages are not symmetrical
Some words or phrases have no direct match in another language. Idioms, sarcasm, slang, humor, and honorifics can translate imperfectly.

Accuracy, nuance & limitations

Important

Translation accuracy depends on many factors, including grammar, dialect, slang, noise (for voice), and how much context is present. Common limitations include:

Ambiguity

Common
Some sentences have multiple meanings; translation may select the wrong one.

Tone & intent

High impact
Politeness, sarcasm, jokes, or anger may not carry correctly across languages.

Names & entities

Precision
People, places, brands, and technical terms may be misread or reformatted.

Dialect & slang

Regional
Local phrases can translate literally instead of correctly.
Always verify high-stakes content
For decisions involving money, safety, legal rights, contracts, immigration, medical treatment, or emergency actions, verify meaning with a qualified human interpreter or professional.

User responsibility & verification

Shared responsibility

You are responsible for how you use translations. Before you rely on a translation:

  • Ask clarifying questions if something seems unclear or surprising.
  • Confirm key facts: numbers, dates, locations, instructions.
  • Do not treat translations as professional advice.
  • Respect cultural differences and avoid assumptions.
Business and sensitive conversations
For contracts, negotiations, or regulated transactions, consider professional translation or dual confirmation in both languages.

Safety safeguards & prohibited use

Strict

Translation features cannot be used to facilitate harm or policy violations. We treat translated abuse the same as abuse in the original language.

  • Threats, harassment, hate, or bullying in any language.
  • Instructions for wrongdoing, violence, or exploitation.
  • Fraud, phishing, impersonation, or manipulation across languages.
  • Sexual exploitation, especially involving minors (zero tolerance).
Enforcement
Violations may result in content removal, feature restriction, account suspension, or permanent termination under Acceptable Use and Safety Policy.

Sensitive domains (medical/legal/finance)

High risk

Translation in high-stakes domains can cause serious harm if incorrect. For these domains:

  • Medical: symptoms, prescriptions, diagnosis, emergency care.
  • Legal: contracts, immigration, court matters, rights and obligations.
  • Financial: payments, bank instructions, investment decisions.
Required behavior
Use professional help when needed. Do not rely solely on 6chatting translation for irreversible decisions.

Voice/calls translation guidance

Audio nuance

For voice/calling translation, accuracy depends on background noise, accents, speaking pace, and microphone quality. To improve results:

  • Speak clearly, at a moderate pace, with complete sentences.
  • Reduce background noise where possible.
  • Repeat key details (numbers, addresses, dates).
  • Confirm important points in writing when possible.
Consent and respect
In some regions, recording or transcribing calls requires consent. Follow local law and respect user expectations.

Children & family guidance

Safe use

Translation can expose children to content they do not fully understand. Parents/guardians should supervise minors and teach them not to share personal information.

For parents/guardians
Encourage children to ask an adult to review translations that involve strangers, money, meeting plans, or private details.
Zero tolerance
Any child exploitation or grooming behavior is prohibited and may trigger immediate termination and legal escalation.

Data handling & privacy

Privacy

Translation requires processing of content to generate translated output. Data handling depends on product features and settings. We aim to minimize data and protect it with reasonable safeguards.

Privacy cross-reference
For details on what we collect, retention, and user rights, see Privacy Policy.

Fairness, bias & cultural context

Respect

Language models may reflect biases present in training data. We strive to reduce harmful bias and improve translation quality across regions and dialects.

  • We encourage reporting biased, offensive, or inaccurate translations.
  • We consider cultural context when assessing harm and intent.
  • We continuously improve language support over time.

IP, consent & content rights

Ownership

You are responsible for the content you submit for translation. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, translate, or share (e.g., copyrighted work, confidential documents) without permission.

Confidential information
Avoid submitting highly confidential personal or business information unless you accept the risk and have the right to process it.

Language coverage & availability

Global

Language support may vary by region, platform, and feature. We may add, remove, or modify supported languages or models to improve performance and safety.

No guarantee of universal coverage
We aim to support many languages, but we do not guarantee that every dialect or specialized domain will be supported at all times.

Reporting translation issues

Help us improve

Report translations that are incorrect, harmful, biased, or unsafe. Include:

  • Source language and target language
  • The original text/audio context (if possible)
  • What the translation output was
  • Why it is incorrect or harmful
Contact
Email [email protected] with subject “Translation Issue” and include relevant details.

Enforcement

Account impact

Misuse of translation features is treated as misuse of the platform. We may apply enforcement actions under our Acceptable Use and Safety Policy, including feature restrictions, suspension, or termination.

Policy updates

Versioned

We may update this policy to reflect improvements in translation technology, safety practices, legal requirements, or product changes. Updates are posted here with a revised date.
